About

Ink, parchment, and quillI am a writer and an actor. I write science-fiction and fantasy; the same genres that I read. I also read and write plays, and I am a self-proclaimed Shakespeare nerd. I love to read as much as I love to write, and my favorite authors are, in no particular order, Orson Scott Card, George R.R. Martin, Jim Butcher, Connie Willis, and J.K. Rowling. As I mentioned, I like William Shakespeare too, and I am a fan of Edgar Allan Poe as well.

Drama Masks

I began acting in plays while in college and absolutely fell in love with it. I would love to start up my own theatre company someday. There would be an emphasis on the Bard of course, but I would also like to put on more contemporary plays, and maybe eventually, some musicals too.

GenLady Hawkinsealogy is another subject that I have delved into over the past few years, and by this extension, I have a more appreciative and interested view in history; particularly WWII, mainly because of the ties that some of my ancestors had in that war, each of which I learned about while studying my family history. Speaking of history and genealogy, I am a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and was officially inducted in January 2014. I am also a member of the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War (DUVCW).  (Photo is of the S.S. Lady Hawkins).

Grasshopper

I also love animals, and this includes insects and arachnids. As I like to say, I love anything with fur, feathers, or scales. I find the subject of Entomology fascinating, and you will usually find me running toward an insect or arachnid that other people are running away from.

Denver BroncosLast but not least, I was born and raised in Southern California, (San Pedro to be exact), and currently reside in Orange County, CA. Nonetheless, I am an avid Denver Broncos fan, although I have never even been to Colorado. I really have to try to make a Broncos home game sometime.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Hello. Very interested to read your blog/website. I am distantly related to one of the passengers who died when the Lady Hawkins went down, and would be pleased to be of help if I can. Please feel free to get in touch.

    • Yes, many people only know a few of his works like “The Raven” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.” Don’t get me wrong, those are both great, but his other poems and stories are terrific as well.
